Honestly, Does Life ever Get Better in Banking/PE/VC/GE/HF etc? (feeling low...am seriously consider leaving finance)

3rd Yr Analyst at a BB (JPM/MS, ignore the tag of summer associate lol) - decided not to recruit for 2023 earlier this year. But I am not feeling finance anymore..

Look I get it, money is good as your more senior (VP making 700k + in IB/PE/ etc.)

But do the hours get better...or is high finance really high comp rewarded with always being on?

MDs are still on - but they have flexibility to WFH, go trips - is it a good life and is the grind till then worth it? (I suspect 35 the earliest)?

Why be an entrepreneur vs. stay in finance: both are a grid right?

I will admit I am young and do not know what I am talking about probably, but I want to make sure so I do not stay in an industry for the next 5 years, finally coming to the same realization.

Can any WSO OG's give some advice?
