How do you find out/prove a fund's AUM?
I recently interviewed with a fund with investor from asia. They claimed that they raised $200m. Is there any way to find out/prove that? thanks

If it’s an equity fund look through their 13F to see what and how much they hold.
thanks I couldnt find the filings on sec.gov
If they are registered in the US, you can check https://adviserinfo.sec.gov/ but not sure if there are similar disclosures in Asia. You can ask someone with Pitchbook access to check there as well
thanks for this site! I couldn't find them. The name ends with LLC so they must be registered in the US? They said they recently raised. Could it be a timing issue?
For PE funds registered in the U.S., Google "[fund name] palico".
thanks, what does palico mean?
Name of the company / database that aggregates the filings
If they are a US Investment manager with over $150mm of AUM, then they have to register with the SEC and file a form ADV which lists AUM unless they are exempt (which then limits the type of investors they can take money from and what kind of accounts they can manage)
thanks, they have a registered LLC. The investors are from asia and they say they just raised $100m
There is a big difference between AUM and fund size. If they say that they've raised $100m it could mean that this is the size of their current fund. The $200m is across mult. funds.
You can use databases like Preqin to check
