How to Find Mentors?
Where do people find mentors in PE outside of their current firm? For context, I’m a 2nd/3rd Year Associate at a MF PE firm in NYC. Looking for general advice and someone to bounce ideas off from a career perspective. I found networking generally easy when I was a college student, but it’s tougher now given I’m at one PE firm and it looks a little odd to randomly reach out to Partners at other firms. Alumni network is admittedly very weak in PE so hard to find anyone there. Any advice?
