How to Let My PE Firm Know I Want to Start Early?

I received a PE offer to join in summer 2022 and believe it not uncommon to leave for PE after 1.5 years. I don't think my fund normally lets people starts in the winter but I just hate IB now and bonus is paid every year in Jan.

How can I subtly send them the message without giving a wrong idea?

If you're close with any of the associates there, it might be worth asking one of them. You could also potentially reach out to the HH although in most cases, I think the PE firm will go through the HH if the fund wants people to start early.

I had calls with a couple associates but don't think we have a rapport yet besides talking finance.

I thought HHs are off the hook after recruiting, are they more helpful than PE's HR team?

I honestly don't know the right answer for this but it might vary by firm. For our firm, the HH reached out to incoming associates to see whether anyone would be willing to start early (think they may have reached out to the kids doing third years first).
