How to move < 6 months in

Vague to remain anonymous:

Joined a PE firm selectively because it had a strategy I believed. Few months in already sick and tired of the most passive aggressive culture I have witnessed. Equivalent to being at a firm with MBA Associates all around. Recognized it's on me for not being able to capture it during my own diligence on the firm, that was made difficult by all virtual interviews and follow-ups before accepting.

Had a HF contact reach out they would be hiring when I started at the PE firm. HF was my initial first choice but took the bird in hand out of fear. Any thoughts on how I can go back to HF contact and see if there is still an opportunity < 6 months into the PE job

This makes a good bit of sense here. My situation is similar but a bit different (apologies for saying exact). I am joining the cryptocurrency space and there is a rush to find talent. I accepted an offer with a company and have considered letting it play out and leaving < 6 months for other opportunities, or continuing to recruit for some of the market-making/prop shops and if I land something then just rip the bandaid off quickly in May and giving them 2-3 months time to hire a new candidate (I was told if I was going to do this, just let them know ASAP and don't bother joining and leaving in < 6 months since it takes around a year anyways to recoup hiring costs).

It’s pretty hard to find updated culture / office politics at IB these days let alone PE
