IB Analyst Lateral with PE Offer

Would it potentially be a problem in the eyes of the PE firm / would it put my associate offer at risk to lateral from my current bank to another? I'd be joining an equivalent/better group with more exposure to the industry that my PE offer is in, and will obviously ask for approval from the PE firm before signing the lateral offer

also wondering if it could look bad to have two short IB stints (2 years combined between them) on my resume

If you already have a PE offer, why are you lateraling? Why are you giving up 6 months of bonus to lateral if it’s not even changing anything material aside from marginally higher prestige?

it's obviously not a prestige thing; have some very good personal life related reasons

That makes sense.

What was your lateral process like? Did you just apply to jobs on LinkedIn / cold outreach to people in that group?
Also when you lateraled did your new firm give you relocation bonus / offer to pay you a full year bonus?
I’m also in the process of trying to lateral so was wondering

cold applied, small relocation bonus and bonus to cover clawbacks (but not full year bonus)
