IK Investment Partners

Does anyone have any colour on IK? They have been doing quite well (mid cap funds from €1.85bn to €2.85bn etc.) but interested to hear any thoughts on deal flow / position in market / culture etc.

Worked with them during a previous internship and can provide some color on their past performance/team size/focus, but have very limited insights on comp and culture.

IK has a strong Pan-European footprint and follows three different investment strategies: Small-cap, mid-cap and their line of "Partnership" funds, which specifically target minority investments in companies. Performance across all strategies ranges from good to very good, their most recent small-cap funds in particular have been killing it (Top quartile across the board). Very well regarded by LPs, strong focus on auction processes, where they believe they can differentiate themselves through their strong operational expertise (One of the largest dedicated Ops teams in Europe). Investment activity is mainly in the Nordics, Germany and France. Most recently, they also hired a team in London, but how that pans out is tba.

Carry is distributed broadly across team members of all strategies, as well as individuals in support functions (Ops, Admin etc.)

Overall, a strong player in the EU MM-UMM segment imo.
