Industry Norms for Using ChatGPT in PE Internship?

This may be a stupid question, but I have a PE internship coming up soon and was wondering what the general industry standard is around using ChatGPT or similar tools.

Is it typically okay to use it for lower-stakes things like writing emails, or is it usually discouraged (or outright prohibited) due to confidentiality concerns? I don’t want to step on any toes or risk breaching firm policy, but also don’t want to miss out on a potentially useful tool if it’s fair game.

Would appreciate insight from anyone who's interned or worked FT at a fund recently.

You shouldn't require chatgpt to be able to produce an email (hopefully); as for privacy and confidentiality, most likely it is preferred not to be used. There might come a time where shops have their own integrated AI system, but right now I think it's still in the testing faze globally. Goodluck in your internship mate, you don't need AI to succeed.
