With all the negative takes on PE going forward (rates + iliquidity + competition/over-allocation) curious if older folks still think doing 2+2 is a best starting point for those interested in investing?
From the outside looking in, seems like with every "regime" LPs switch allocations away from certain assets and into others. however, over the past couple years, PE & HF both seem to facing somewhat secular decline - is this accurate or am I overindexing on the negative headlines?
For those who are older, what is the advice you would give to yourself if you were starting your career now?
