Is it Possible: Tech ---> Tech PE Investing

Is it possible to lateral from tech to Tech PE investing side?

Background: Started career in finance out of undergrad working for a small fund in LA. Transferred over to tech after a couple of years. Had two exits from software companies. Firstly, as a senior product manager at a healthcare tech company for a roughly $500mln exit. Secondly, CTO at a mid sized SaaS business (one of the first 5 employees) for a little over $100mln.

Currently unhappy with my role. Working for the company that acquired my second business as a Vice President of Engineering.

Target: Tech PE firms like Vista Equity, General Atlantic, Marlin, Thoma Bravo, Silverlake, etc.

I know some of the names may be unattainable but I'm curious if this is possible. Any help/tips appreciated.
