How favorably would a candidate look if they were coming from Jefferies Industrials or Tech when looking to move to MM PE in NY? Is it worth it to lateral to one of these groups in order to make recruiting less of an uphill battle for NY PE?

Do you think these are better than tier 4? I work at one and that's what I think others view the firm as. Basically I have decent modeling skills but have trouble getting past resume screens fro MM PE and want to know if I should think about a lateral for name brand and more deal reps. My WLB is decent rn, like ~70/hrs a week, so that's also a consideration, although minor.
You can’t compare Jefferies to BNP/Mizuho. Look at the difference in deals. Especially if you’re talking Jefferies’ industrials or tech teams
So it's a no brainer to make the lateral if I want to go to MM PE in NYC? I just want to make sure it'll help me get there as I think my technical skills are good, and want to avoid any extra steps in getting to PE. I've also heard JeffCo culture is tough.
If you’re in HC, Tech, Industrials, M&A, or LevFin at Jefferies you’ll get a lot of MM PE interviews in NY. Last season, heard of multiple analysts from M&A and HC getting MF PE.
