Next question, are you hoping to lateral as an associate or move shops and get a promotion (senior associate or VP)? Why wouldn't you wait to secure the promotion at your shop first to avoid repeating time?
Hoping to lateral to a Senior Associate position with path to VP. 2 years not this summer but next summer. Is it suggested to stay till Senior Associate, then leave? I don’t want to piss off MDs by not giving proper notice which I think will preclude me from SA promo.
