Most ‘hands-on’ Private Equity Platforms
I want to work for a firm that really has a unique approach in getting involved with PortCo’s rather than the traditional leverage and leave.
i have some questions:
1) Which firms are best known for this? Bonus points if they are more flexible with capital allocation (although of course these appear to be mutually exclusive).
2) I see firms such as BX have operational consultants - are there any firms that have investment professionals who provide ‘value’ by themselves? Why does/doesn’t this work?
3) Does this approach even work? Seems like you could just hire an in-house team or McKinsey, which any fund can do.
