Most Meritocratic Funds/Firms ?

It might come off as a dumb question, but after reading so many negative post regarding the sheer amount of luck and politics in the PE industry, I wanted to ask if there are any funds/firms that have a more meritocratic approach to promotion and giving juniors responsibilities.

I understand that playing the corporate politics game is a key aspect of making it in the world of finance but was generally wondering if there are any companies that you know of that have a track record of supporting their best associates/VPs. Would appreciate any insights!

Yes; that totally makes sense. However, I am personally interested in the private markets and longer-term investments and that's why the question crossed my mind.

any insight on how comp looks like at TA for associates? Is comp also based on certain KPIs, metrics - I heard analysts are given an extra bonus based on a deal sourced collectively and read what I believe was as 8k figure for each deal brought in? Which with all due respect sounds low and would not make up for any meaningful discount in terms of comp.
