Moving from trad. IB to Secondaries

Current AN1 looking to make the move in my 2nd year.

Currently sitting in the industry team, mainly M&A deals and 1 IPO, nothing related to secondaries

Wondering if anyone has done it / has any tips to start prepping

Fairly straight forward move. They’ll hire out of industry / M&A seat just like traditional PE. If you’re targeting GP-led funds I’d expect the process to mirror a traditional PE interview process (walk through deal experience, thinking through business models / investment opportunities, modeling tests / case studies). I never really interviewed for any LP-led heavy roles so I’m less helpful there but it would probably be fairly similar.

Through HHs or direct apply to HH? HHs seems to be hesitant when I mention that I want to exit to secondaries over my industry group
