Moving into PE IR/Fundraising

Hello! A penultimate year student from Singapore here.

Im quite interested in pursuing a career in PE IR/Fundraising/Sales/Client mgmt kind of role. Ive been trying to search for internships and potential full time roles in this area but dont seem to see much opportunities.. Possibly cause SG PE scene itself is relatively small so these roles are limited as compared to trad investment banking/s&t roles? (Forgive me if I didnt search hard enough lol.. but i really couldnt find much)

Some background: My prev internships have mainly been in S&T, most recently I did a S&T internship at a top BB (GS/JPM/MS).  Personally I feel that I dont really suit the trading floor and im more interested in alts that public markets hence trying to make the switch. Not really interested in investing roles and want to pursue more sales and client facing roles. Ive been told I have great people skills and always hear that I should be in sales ,, and I do think I could do well in this role!

Was hoping I could get some colour on

- What would potentially be the best way to break into this industry as a fresh grad? Are there summer internships for these roles in PE firms in SG?

- Comp in APAC?

- Career progression/prospects? How difficult would it be to move from APAC to NYC/London in this industry?

Any advice much appreciated!
