Negotiate Comp During Review?

We're having reviews this week and next and I'm potentially up for promotion to VP. Considering our partners are jammed doing 50+ reviews over the next couple weeks, is this the proper time to negotiate the comp structure? Or would it be more appropriate to just say thanks, discuss the promotion path, and schedule some follow-up time after the holidays to get into the nitty gritty of carry, etc.

Would be curious how people have handled PE comp negotiations during reviews, but I have basically said "I'm assuming a promotion next year given current responsibilities, trajectory, etc., if that is not the current thinking, let me know now so we can talk about it". They likely won't push back when you say that so you have leverage next year in case things don't go your way.

As far as numbers, I've been lucky where i haven't had to push back yet, although suspecting this year may be the first time where I need to, particularly on carry as the firm has grown quite a bit. I'm envisioning bringing up my carry figures and how I expected an increase due to x,y,z and see the reaction. Depending on conversation, it may warrant a follow up conversation. I'm not assuming it'll get fleshed out in that one meeting, especially if they weren't thinking of giving me more carry initially.
