On Cycle / PE Recruiting out of Banking

What does on cycle PE recruiting and PE recruiting as an IB analyst hoping to exit after two years look like? Not sure if this is better suited on here or on the PE forum but would appreciate insight as to what it actually looks like - in terms of things like how the interactions with headhunters work and how quickly a process goes, for example. Any insight is appreciated.
