Partners Group

Does anyone have experience with Partners Group? It's a Swiss PE firm that claims to have $120 b AUM. They have an office in Denver that they're recruiting from my university for, but I'm having trouble finding much about the group.

If anyone has a perspective on the analyst program there/long term career opps/exits, I'd love to hear.

I can only speak of Europe but their every respected here with offices across the EU and very diligent/highly professionals in their direct, primary and infra teams. Definitely worth looking into if they offer a gig

PG is a great place to begin your career. Analysts rotate across investment teams (PE, Infra, RE, Credit) and roll off permanently onto an investment team after 2 / 3 years. If you really want to do buyout PE, I would wager that more than half join one of the buyout teams. However, many find that they enjoy other asset classes. The work is very different across teams, and rotating gives you a low-stakes opportunity to test the waters. The PG campus in CO is really nice - surrounded by a golf course with views of the Rockies. You're right, if you search WSO, you won't find much useful info on PG. In fact, most posts recycle a "well I've heard" sort of mentality, which is not useful. Think like an investor, and do your own diligence: go to PG's website and read about the firm and it's investments there - that should give you everything you need to know to make an informed decision if the analyst program is a good fit for you. Regarding long term career path / exits. Some people stay (PG’s CEO was an analyst). Some people go to other funds. A little advice: concern yourself less with potential exits and more with skill acquisition. Focusing on the latter gives you all the optionality you will need. Best of luck!

Agree. Partners writes billion plus equity checks. Squarely UMM or greater.
