PE analyst from undergrad or IB -> PE?

Hey guys I'm looking for everyone's thoughts.

Context: Incoming SA 2023 at a top BB team that regularly places into MFs and I think the buyside route is what I want to do. However I know that MF analyst programs are picking up in popularity and I was wondering whether it would be better to put my two years in or try and recruit directly from undergrad?

What sort of favors would matter for this? What are the pros and cons of each decision? Thanks in advance for the insight.
