PE Analyst Recruiting Timeline
I'm a rising junior at a top target school who's just recently become interested in finance. I have good coursework, 4.0 GPA, and research experience at a boutique equity placement firm. I'm interested in private equity analyst internship programs (particularly in the climate tech/infra space) for Summer 2025. Are these positions already filled? Just want to know if I have a chance before I take the plunge. If this isn't an option, what might be a good alternative for someone looking to break into PE.
Larger firms fill them sophomore year, if they even take interns (a lot of the infra PE shops only hire associates out of banking).
You might be able to sneak into smaller LMM shops, especially the climate tech firms which may not have as stiff recruiting timelines
