Don't know of a database but Mideuropa is probably the main player in CEE.

Have you tried going through your local chamber du commerce ?
US based I dont know but in CEE, you can find: Innova Capital, Entreprise Investors, Advent, Penta, MidEuropa, PPF ... also a little bit Riverside or MCI (but no recent deals that I know of). my 2c
