PE Fund controller to Product strategy or secondaries

Hi everyone,

I have an offer as a fund controller in a big PE investment firm. I am not against following the CFO path in funds but I would appreciate it if someone with PE experience shares some information on the questions below.

Is it easy to transition to Product strategy? Are secondaries even an option? I am aware that a fund controller is not the path for the front office but I was wondering if NAV analysis and fund structure knowledge could be relevant in the secondaries investments.
