PE MF analysts/associates in India

Hi all,

Would love to connect with people in Analyst/Assoc programs of PE MFs in India to get their view on M7 programs and their approach towards the same

Background - Recently accepted an analyst offer from a global MF’s India office

Thanks !

Congrats on your new role! Based on the most helpful WSO content, it seems that many grads in India go directly into MBA programs and then join as analysts at firms like yours. This could be a good path for you as well, especially if you're interested in M7 programs.

In terms of the private equity landscape in India, it's quite active with many major funds having an office there. Returns have been in the 5-10% range (in USD) even at the top quartile. Some funds invest out of dedicated Asia vehicles, while others invest out of a larger, global pool of capital.

As for your approach towards M7 programs, it might be beneficial to leverage your experience at the global MF’s India office. Highlighting your hands-on experience in the PE industry in a rapidly growing market like India could make your application stand out.

Remember, every journey is unique and what worked for others might not necessarily be the best for you. So, take the time to understand your career goals and how an M7 program can help you achieve them. Good luck!
