PE On-Cycle Recruiting and HH Questions

After seeing all the posts about on cycle recruiting, I have some questions ahead of PE recruiting (I am not going to be an analyst this year and not recruiting right now just for reference).

1. Do you typically reach out to HHs yourself or do they reach out to you? (going to a mid-BB for reference)

2. Does every firm have a different HH/multiple HHs? How does that work? Is it smart to reach out to HHs that represent a bunch of firms?

3. Do you network with analysts and associates at the PE firm on your own or do HHs put you in contact with them if they like you?

4. Do a lot of interviews happen on the same day so that you have to choose what place you want to interview at over others?

5. If you strike out during on cycle, what is the best next course of action to recruit for PE? Can you reapply to the same firms?

Thanks!
