PE VS IB - how much better/worse?

Is PE any better than IB in terms of lifestyle, people, the type of work?

Really focused on the hours and how much better life is in PE? I’m currently at a summer analyst at an EB and looking to transition to PE MM in Chicago or somewhere in tech buyout later on. Thanks

Generally far more variation by firm within PE vs IBLMM/MM tends to be better but largely driven by strategy and culture.  If WLB is key for yo, would try to really focus on those pieces when recruiting (ie. how many deals are they doing per year / per fund, how top heavy is the org, # of portcos per associate, are the senior guys family-types or MF-pedigree hardos, etc.).
