Started a new position today, small shop with just a couple guys and 200 MM AUM. I am still in school (undergrad but all the other interns graduated/are in the midst of getting their MBA) and if I were to give myself a title, would go by analyst intern @ XYZ fund. However, upon signing my contract, I was notified by the principal that I would have the title associate (I have more experience in PE than any of the other interns). What do I put on resume/LI? Don't wanna mislead anyone and feeling heavily obligated to at least put intern somewhere in the title. Meeting with a few ppl and need to update my resume within the next 2 days, so any advice would be great.

Go with Intern, Private Equity Intern, or Private Equity Summer Analyst or something of the like.
Unless you've worked for a few years or you're post MBA I would really hesitate to put Associate.
