Possible to build BizDev motion for LMM PE firm?
After ~4 years of sourcing heavy technology growth equity roles, I've been offered "Head of Business Development" for a Midwest 100m LMM PE firm. Non-SaaS, mostly boring profitable industrial businesses ~10m revenue/1m EBITDA types.
They have absolutely 0 technology layer and have relied on intros for the first 2 funds (which is obv no longer working)
Is this a foolish challenge to take on? Where the hell do I even start? I would love advice from anyone who has gone 0 to 1 on PE BD
