Primaries / FoF Modelling Question

How are the models structured for fund investments?

Is there a fund level waterfall model with linked LBOs to each portco?

Have a case study coming up and don't want to waste time thinking about how to set it up.

Not sure why the MS, interned at a FoF doing primaries, secondaries and co-investments and then spent 2 years at an LP before moving to secondaries advisory… and there’s no modeling involved for fund investments. It’s simply GP evaluation and more macro / thematic evaluation. The only modeling I could think of would be cash flow / portfolio allocation modeling but that’s internal for an LP not to evaluate a manager. You’re literally committing to a blind pool… there’s no assets to model.
