Private Debt vs Private Equity

Hi monkeys, What would you say are the pros and cons of each private equity and private debt and how would you compare them with each other? Just looking for more opinions besides the upside vs downside focus. Thanks !

Apart from the most obvious differences, you will get involved much more into each investment by being in private equity - you might get to sit on the company's board of directors, oversee operational improvement initiatives, spend time with management. Private debt often involves writing smaller checks to more companies, and you don't get involved too much post-close... unless you have to foreclose on them.
