Private Equity Emailing

PE Overlord Council,

I've been on the BD side of PE for around 2 years at this point  and still as dumb as I started. I want to level up my cold outreach game. Right now all of the cold outreach tips I've done research on have offered the same sort of advice: personalize with recent relevant news, acquisitions, or details about the person (schools, mutual connections, changing of jobs).

So I'm coming here to ask you, what personalized details in a cold email make YOU want to respond? Do you prefer the email be straight to the point or open up the door for conversation? What qualities in a subject line catch your attention? What resources have helped you write better emails aside from practicing?

Responses to ANY of these questions would be greatly appreciated.
