Private Equity Simulation - Testing the waters

Wanted to get everyone’s opinion on this.

Big fan of the PE page here and have been subject to some excellent discussions and advice provided over the years. To take this one step further I’d like to get people’s opinion on the following.

Thinking of running a fake PE PortCo simulation on this app, with the purpose of allowing those with strong investing skills to showcase how to think like an investor, and for those who hope to end up in an investing role to pick up tips and learn from the best.

The idea is I’ll set-up a 3 stat model (and a GPT generated word doc CIM for FakeCo) and collectively we can analyse the investment proposition. Going through multiple rounds of IC and the different considerations to build the argument at each stage. It’s an idea that sprung into my head this morning, but I’d probably encourage comments to be made underneath one central post, and then produce a model/IC notes on new posts at intervals.

I think shared opinions from the experts on the thread will be eye opening. I’d need to set some time aside over the next month or so to get this done, but I thought I’d test the waters to see if people would be keen on seeing something like this. Let me know your thoughts.

And, if anyone would want to be a part of organising this (ideally 1+ yrs of decent banking expirience at a minimum) comment down below.
