Public Company QoE Report

Have been thinking recently, if QoE report is required for M&A transactions...why is a condensed version of this or something similar not provided each year for public companies?

Is the justification that the quarterly reports for PublicCo's are sufficient for retail investors?

Am I also mis-understanding the key point of a QoE? - In my head it's a deep dive on financial performance and the source and sustainability of revenues, (which is obviously useful in a transaction for add-backs/Adjustments, but less relevant for retail investors?)

Thanks in advance,

Quality of earnings isn't required for M&A transactions, it's just standard practice to have these days. QoE reports are primarily meant to verify Adjusted EBITDA for a business and public companies do not need to publish adjusted EBITDA as it's not a GAAP line item. Many still do since it's a common metric but it's not necessary to comply with being a public company so therefore a QoE report is not imperative.
