Reaching Out Directly?
I am a 1st year associate at an UMM PE fund in NYC. I'm currently interviewing for a lateral associate position at another PE fund. I've been using a recruiter and they have coordinated the first two rounds of the interview process. I've connected well with the people and was fairly confident that I was moving through the process, but have not heard back for ~1.5 weeks. The recruiter mentioned that they have not heard any updates or feedback on my process (don't know if other candidates have moved forward). Would it be okay to directly reach out to the company vs. waiting around for them to call the recruiter? It would be good to close the loop and move on with my search if possible.
