Sell me on Special Sits vs. LBOs
Hi all, I have a pretty unique opportunity to do either: 1. Special situations with a debt focus (distressed debt, Mezz, DIP financing etc.), 2. Vanilla LBOs.
I previously accepted a role to do LBOs however the fund is also launching a special sits group and they asked if I was interested.
My background is non-IB and to be honest, I never really thought about doing distressed debt but the group seems super interesting. I’d love to hear about: 1. Lifestyle 2. Comp 3. Career progression
Personally I've found distressed deals more interesting because of the creativity involved and strategic element. How and when you choose to invest in a company is a big part of it...
...also it's a nice skill to have for a recession. :)
Yep agreed distressed / ssits are way more unique and interesting within the Credit universe vs leveraged loans.
OP, mind if I PM you a question?
