what the main difference is operations at firms like (Ares ASOF, Oaktree, Apollo,Sixth Street) vs HFs like (Centerbridge, Baupost, King Street, Brigade) they have siniliar mandates but are still distinct.
Also curious given that TPG looks to be buying Angelo Gordon.
Interviewed at sixth street and seems like their pe structure gives them a longer horizon to see investments thru instead of constrained by quarterly returns
