Sterling ppl are the worse / Partners Group

Hello everyone,

I have received an offer from Partners Group to join as an analyst, signed the offer and obviously there is the usual background check.
The background check has been running for a month now (should be max 2 week as stated in the email) and when I've tried to call them to get more info about the timing, they just say, "Sorry, this is private information, I can't disclose it, is there anything else I can help you with?"
Is anyone in a similar situation? I'm beginning to fear there's a problem with my profile...
Has anyone ever been rejected because of a background check?

Again thanks for the help finance folks !!

Do you have anything to worry about? You know yourself whether the background check will be successful or not.

I'm grateful that I have two middle fingers, I only wish I had more.

No, there's nothing to hide, I just want to move on. The last time I did a background check, within a week it was over, it just takes ages with sterling

when you say "the usual/standard background check", do you mean the type of background check that only checks your employment verification, criminal record, etc.? or do you mean the type where they also ask for 5 references with phone numbers and emails? In addition, what is the norm across different firms you've interviewed with/heard from other people's experiences? thanks

I just can't because you did not comment under your username, but it would be great if you could PM me or if you add another comment under your username. Thank you!

My brother in christ. Could you give some info on which strategy you are joining and the classic elements of pay / hours?

PG has a rotating analyst program, it's only at the associate team they recruit directly for their secondaries/PE/PC team. Pay is 110 base for their analyst program, they do underpay at the senior levels though but also have to consider the COL difference in Colorado vs NYC.

Depending on the type of background check, the length can vary substantially based on the name of the individual. It is a LOT harder to run a background check on a guy named John Smith versus someone named Scarlett Rosalie (or any other unique name).

Curious about this. If you provide them with an HR contact, will they sleuth further and try to get in contact with an MD who can speak to performance? I always thought companies really couldn't speak to performance beyond verifying employment dates.
