Strategies for breaking into PE

Hi all, new to this site and looking to get some advice. I am currently a senior at an IB/consulting feeder school finishing up an undergrad degree in engineering. I am going to start work next fall as an associate at EY-Parthenon. I have had my sights set on consulting for a while but also have been interested in giving PE a try at some point and then sticking with whichever I like more (there will also likely be an MBA mixed in there somewhere). I am hoping to get some advice as to some strategies to break into PE down the road and what I can do in the next few years to set myself up for success. Thanks!
