Tech PE NYC
Current associate at a large growth fund looking to make the jump to tech PE and want to stay in NYC.
What are the tech focused funds in NYC that do growth and tech buyouts. Not looking for Siris type buyouts, but more in line with next-gen tech (i.e., Vista, Francisco, GA, TA, etc.)
Dont want sourcing heavy or pure growth (i.e., Insight)

Buyouts from a fund that's essentially shuttering. They've called off their latest flagship fundraise and started laying off folks already. Siris is done.
Where’d you hear that?
GA and Insight are similar in that they both do mostly growth but will do some buyouts but both are definitely growth first investors.
Some top tech investors in NYC in no particular order (excluding growthier names) - Warburg, Hg, Apax, WCAS all come to mind. Most MF tech teams are in SF but all of the above have tech people in NYC and are in my opinion great tech funds
A few examples that I can think of - SL and H&F are top names with NY offices, but based in SF/MP. Advent has NY tech, CD&R has NY tech (not sure about deals outside cloudera) for the bigger names. Euro shops w NY tech presence include EQT (maybe generalist but they do tech), Hg, Apax, possibly CVC.
could anyone name some funds in NYC that are solid but aren't MF/popular UMM
I would look at Silver Lake, Warburg, Providence, etc.
Anybody have more examples in addition to the list above? Think MF/UMM firms where one could work in NYC and work on tech buyouts, but non exclusive. The firms listed seem pretty comprehensive and was wondering if there were any missing.

Many firms in Boston: TA, Summit, Advent, Silversmith, Great Hill, Cove Hill, Guidepost, WestView, and Wavecrest to name a few.
