Thoughts on current position as a undergraduate student?

I'm currently at a non-target/semi-target (solid IB presence but not a pipeline school). I accepted an internship at a MM/LMM PE firm in a tier-2 city and wanted to get some perspective on whether it’s the right move long-term.

The firm is growing, only recently started hiring analysts, and seems like a strong platform - but I'm worried about what I might be missing by not doing IB first. Specifically:

  • The technical and structured training that IB provides
  • Whether skipping IB makes it harder to pivot later if I don’t get a return offer

For anyone who started in PE straight out of undergrad, how did it impact your long-term trajectory (IB, growth equity, larger PE, corp dev, etc.)?
