Mid-tier tech investor in the lower middle market. Have heard a handful of both successful and sideways anecdotes from their portfolio. 

If you want to do tech investing, I wouldn't turn them down by any stretch. But there are certainly better funds out there.

Diversis' bread and butter is "special situations" tech investing -- e.g. Tempo (big winner from Fund I) was a carveout from an Icelandic public company that they completed in multiple stages. Comps would be groups like Marlin or STG who don't mind getting their hands dirty.

It can be pretty high-beta investing, more so than a lot of PE, but it would expose you to some pretty unique sourcing and structuring dynamics that can be valuable elsewhere in your career. But as others have said, all that complexity = sweaty as hell.
