Thoughts on "Iconiq Capital", specifically Iconiq Growth?

I'm currently in transaction advisory at a company you've heard of but wouldn't be impressed by. I'm interviewing for Iconiq Growth. The work seems much more interesting, but I don't really have the perspective to feel out if this is a step forward/sideways/backwards. Curious about reputation/trajectory/etc.

Thanks!

They are infinitely better than any TAS company and you should jump through whatever hoops you can to work there then count your blessings if you get in lol

Still better than TAS. Even the dingiest boutique IB is better for your resume than that.

A top pure-play venture growth shop. Just raised almost $6B and hit what I think was their hard cap. Seems like they’re on the upward trajectory having only been around for like a decade. Overspent in 2021 like a lot of people but not as egregiously. Will be interesting to see how they play the AI hype but most of their 2023 / 2024 investments seem pretty measured.

Especially if it’s for portfolio ops, you’ll get to work with some interesting companies and they’re known for their analytics / data reports so you may get to touch that. Also their family office gives them a pretty robust customer introduction network so I’m sure you’d interact there from your seat.

As others have said, would definitely jump at the opportunity.
