Hard to describe but just very rude and clearly didn’t want to be interviewing. Maybe he was having a bad day, who knows. And no I didn’t turn down because of him but got a better offer at a larger fund. They also seemed like an older school culture, with more of a value-oriented focus that likely wasn’t a great fit with what I was ideally looking for.

With that said, I think they’re doing fine in terms of returns. No clue if they’ve raised a fund recently so I’d do more diligence on that but I think there are worse places you could end up. The MP, Frank, and two MDs I met with couldn’t have been nicer guys. I think it’s still seen as a solid lower middle market shop in the sectors they play in.
