Time to hear back during off-cycle PE
Had a superday interview with an SF fund on Thursday of last week. Sent out my thank you notes and reached out to HSP (the headhunters) and an associate there, yet haven';t heard anything. Does this mean that I didn't get the offer?
Probably not looking great... Is this a traditional LBO fund? If so, they tend to make decisions a lot quicker.
The other possibility is they need to finish up other interviews before they make a decision.
Yeah - it's a traditional buyout fund... I'm confused as to why the recruiter wouldn;t have said anything though - like a yes, no, or the fund is still deciding
Yeah they honestly could be resource constrained and haven't gotten to the roundtable for some reason. If it's a small fund ($1bn) then it's certainly in the realm of possibility, but given the silence from the recruiters it doesn't look great.
I also asked about getting my flights reimbursed, so seems pretty weird that it would be completely radio silent. I imagine that I'll hear back on Monday or it's a tacit no...
Recently had an off cycle final round interview on a Thursday and heard back Monday. This was for immediate start, so it may be less urgent if your interview was a summer start
HSP has ghosted me after a superday before and I had to call to get them to tell me no and initiate reimbursement process.
Turns out I did well and they want me to do even more interviews... Not the best response, but not terrible

Yeah the PE interview process is pretty absurd..
It might be because this firm never hires consultants and wants m e to chat with more people "just to make sure" I'm the right fit
Gonna bump this thread - had the follow up interview the Thursday before Christmas and still haven't heard back - any thoughts on if I may still get the offer?

Why don't you reach out wishing them a "Happy New Year!" and check in on the status of your candidacy on Monday? Nobody here can speculate any better than you can on this specific situation
