I have heard a lot about how elite TPG growth is but I can't seem to find any information on the growth equity part of the group? What is it like? How do you enter it? Do they follow a bottom up sourcing model like Summit Partners? Anything about TPG Growth at all would be great to hear

Does Henkel also handle TPG Capital Private Equity?
Yes I believe so
No TPG Growth and TPG capital are covered by different HH firms, which is very frustrating because their processes run at the same time on the same day (at least this year).
From what I've heard (from an ex-TPG cap associate) is that the growth fund is seen to be less prestigious than the capital group. Have also heard that alot of the growth investments are actually done through TPG capital (i.e Uber and AirBnB) because the capital team can pull money from the growth fund but not vice versa.

Any insights on opportunities with their (relatively) recent Rise Fund? Does it draw from investment professionals within growth?
Yes - I know a mid-level professional who works under both Growth and Rise. Not positive if this is also true for associates, but I believe that it is

"Growth" is a complicated term. It changes more and more as additional firms look to grow AUM, etc. TPG Growth really just means the $200M equity checks for TPG. They do a lot of regular growth stuff, but TPG Growth also does vanilla middle market LBOs on 10% revenue growth restaurant chains. This is absolutely not a ding. It is a great group / firm. Growth is just a funny term these days.
Like, at DFJ, their growth group still does Series B investments. I know another $5B+ AUM firm whose Growth Group won't look at anything with $3M EBITDA. Funny times we live in.
TPG Growth group is solid and consistently competes for growth equity opportunities for some of the most blue chip start-ups. While one commenter suggested people in TPG Capital tend to look down upon the group internally, probably regret that statement when they're forced to go to business school after their two year associate stint while the members of the Growth team are promoted to Senior Associate. Just saying. ;)
