TPG Rise Superday

Has anyone made it to the Rise Fund's (not climate) Superday recently? Looking for more guidance as the team has been very cagey as far as details of the LBO modeling test and how the day will go. Any insights would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights and advice for handling Superday interviews, particularly focusing on LBO modeling tests and the overall process:

  1. LBO Modeling Test:

    • Preparation: Ensure you are well-prepared for LBO modeling tests. These tests can be challenging and often include multiple components such as DCF and other financial models. Practice extensively using resources like the Private Equity Interview Course which includes detailed LBO tests and cases.
    • Time Management: During the test, manage your time efficiently. Previous experiences shared on WSO indicate that candidates often struggle with the time constraints, so practice completing models within a set timeframe.
  2. Interview Structure:

    • Technical and Behavioral Questions: Be ready for a mix of technical and behavioral questions. The IB Interview Bootcamp and Private Equity Interview Bootcamp can be valuable resources to prepare for these.
    • Fit with the Team: Superday interviews often assess your fit with the team. Demonstrate that you are not only knowledgeable but also someone they would enjoy working with for long hours. This includes showing your analytical skills, financial market knowledge, and interpersonal skills.
  3. General Advice:

    • Comparison with Peers: Remember that at the Superday stage, you are being compared to other top candidates. Aim to be in the top 10-20% of the candidates by showcasing your strengths effectively.
    • Insight from Previous Candidates: Insights from previous candidates suggest that the process can be rigorous and may include multiple rounds of interviews and tests. Networking and seeking advice from those who have gone through similar processes can be beneficial.

For more detailed preparation, consider leveraging the various training programs and bootcamps available on WSO, such as the Modeling & Valuation Bootcamp and the Private Equity Master Package.

Good luck with your Superday!
