UMM to MF & value to thematic
Hi all, Started as an associate in a UMM fund 1.5 years ago (title not updated) and would be looking at switching to a MF. Over past few years, I thankfully was able to get a lot of deal experience with 2 platforms, 1 add-on and a few other deals that ended up dying in later phase. Invested in businesses of various size as fund has a pretty wide mandate with EBITDA up to 250m. When I initially recruited, I was very lucky and my first process worked out and I absolutely loved the team / mandate / exposure I’d get so I went with it and do not regret it. Now, I would be looking to go to some specific MF that I have had my eye on for a while which are more thematic (currently in value fund). Could you please share your experience with: - switching to MF from smaller fund - switching from value to thematic Thank you in advance.

its not a function of your background - it’s more a function that almost every PE fund is over staffed right now and if anything trying to shed mid-levels or extend runway to promotions
