Upcoming On-cycle Recruiting
When is the upcoming PE On-cycle process? I'm hearing whispers of August, but that seems ludicrously early...
Would appreciate any color people may have heard from HHs or their firms if they are currently at PE shops
This is for 2025 on-cycle.
Nobody knows for certain, but last year was Monday, August 29, so would begin preparing for a repeat given you can't control the actual date. The worst that can happen is it kicks off and you're not ready.
Agreed. Probably not going to be early again this year unless some fund kicks it off but better to be prepared than sorry. Most funds actually do not want to interview analysts so early. They are just forced to if there are even rumors that some funds are starting the process. You could always check with the guys at bryant street advisors. They're pretty plugged into this stuff

In all honesty I would be happy if it was as late as Aug 29.. I feel like they're prone to move it up earlier every year? Idk hoping for later but we'll see
Headhunters are already aggressively asking for names. Its going to be the same time as last year probably. That’s also how it was pre-COVID. Maybe some funds sit out again, but there will most likely be offers given out before September.

Networking with the firms won't do much except for giving you a better sense of how they operate and if they are a good fit for you. Everything happens through the headhunters. You can register for most of them on their websites or reach out to them via LinkedIn.
