I've had two versions of my resume for SA/VP recruiting (5-7 years of IB/PE experience). I would use the standard one-pager for email blasts / apply online / first contact with recruiters, and use the 2-page version (1-page focused on broader skillets and responsibilities + 1-page deal sheet), to offer it on demand once there was definitive mutual interest. Most shops were very glad to have the 2-pager and will help you differentiate from plain vanilla candidates, it will make you look more impressive and well-rounded if properly structured and could make an instrumental difference all the way to the final round and hiring decision. Do ping CompBanker if you want a very thorough / high-quality resume review.

Question on deals sheet. Do you do it in a "resume format" that is largely text based? Or more of a "highly formatted grid" with key parameters (Name, Business Description, Responsibilities, Size, etc)

I would say that it depends on how much deal experience you've gotten at that point in your career. Some have enough to warrant a separate page by the time they are an experienced VP and definitely by the time they are a principal. I generally advise my clients to do a 2-pager, utilizing the first page to offer standard resume stuff and describe key responsibilities / accomplishments in your jobs and have the second page be a supplement that outlines deal experience, portfolio coverage responsibilities / board seats, and other things like that. Generally the deal experience is resume format rather than a table with key parameters. Not all of your deals should be described the same exact way because in theory your key contributions and key aspects of each deal are different.
