Does anyone have any experience with Waud Capital Partners out of Chicago? Are they a strong middle market shop? It sounds like they did really well in 2008-2010 and continue to do well raising capital. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Solid MM shop. Has done well and is better at finding add-ons compared to some of its peers. Helps them stretch value on the sale.
No idea where they are in the current fundraising, but they have begun to sell some portfolio holdings.

There's a guy in my HSW MBA class who was there pre-MBA, speaks highly of them. They're also recruiting for VP spots, so they've got to be doing well.

What was said above- great fund with great people and they've done very well for themselves so far. You can track the performance of one of the companies in the portfolio (ACHC) which they still have an ownership interest in. Spoke to them during the recruiting process a few years ago and seemed like a solid platform- the one thing you should have to prove is ties to Chicago and why healthcare especially interests you (kind of a disproportionate part of their portfolio).
